GENERAL
Trim your wooden wick to approximately 1/4 inch before each burn. For the first burn, allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface to help prevent tunneling. Burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time, keep it away from drafts, and always place it on a stable, heat safe surface. Before relighting, remove any loose char from the wick for a cleaner, more even burn.
Our candles are hand-poured using coconut-apricot wax blend chosen for its smooth finish, strong fragrance performance, and beautiful, even burn.
Tunneling can happen when a candle is extinguished before the wax has enough time to melt evenly across the surface. You can always use the foil method: wrap a piece of aluminum foil around the top edge of the candle, leaving an opening in the center above the flame. This helps reflect heat inward so the wax around the sides can melt more evenly.
Wooden wicks naturally behave differently from traditional cotton wicks. They create the signature soft crackling sound we love, but they may need a little extra care. Before each burn, trim away any loose or charred wood and keep the wick approximately 1/4 inch. If the flame becomes too small, gently remove the excess char before relighting to help maintain a steady, even burn.
